Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a mixed abilities classroom. Often, students are timid and anxious to speak out and engage in content with others. It is essential all students learn to take risks academically, think aloud, and trust themselves and others via collaboration and appreciate the productive struggle sometimes associated with critical thinking.
I plan to use the stress tools and whiteboard items to facilitate group and independent learning sessions, giving students the necessary modeling and strategies to become familiar and even comfortable with these ideas.
These tools will equip students to confidently navigate not only academic struggles but be better prepared for college, career and life.
