it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students

Our Science Academy provides our students with a fast-paced and rigorous STEM curriculum.
It is our mission to provide our students with a challenging and inquiry-based STEM curriculum to maximize individual potential and ensure that our students succeed in a global community. Our goal is to expose students to as many learning opportunities that will prepare them for the future as possible, all while bringing to the forefront ideas and concepts that they may not have considered before.
My Project
Every classroom across our country is populated with students who enter the grade level at a variety of different stages of learning. Often, we have students who require additional support, as well as those who seem to move full steam ahead. How do we continue to challenge those students who move through the curriculum at a faster pace than others? Rather than provide more busywork, we'd like to offer them a challenge.
Critical thinking is frequently cited as a highly desired skill in potential employees, but are our students being adequately prepared with the skills to meet this demand?
I am requesting critical thinking games and activities to be used in our classrooms. These materials will become a learning station for students who finish early and provide exemplar work. Students can work to strengthen their critical thinking skills independently with these materials at their own pace with no pressure. This allows for greater differentiation within the classroom, and the opportunity to support students who need additional instruction as well as those who need differentiated opportunities to continue their growth.
