This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the heart of our bustling inner cities, where concrete often replaces greenery and where car horns often drown out bird songs, the availability of outdoor learning spaces is more than a luxury—it is a necessity. Outdoor learning environments are not just additional teaching spaces; they are vital resources that can transform educational experiences, particularly for students in urban areas who may have limited access to natural settings.

Urban environments can be stifling with limited areas for children to play and explore safely.

The establishment of green spaces within the school grounds offers a natural escape from the often cramped and noisy urban settings.

The provision of adequate outdoor learning spaces in inner-city schools is not merely an enhancement to the standard curriculum—it is a transformative element that can address health disparities, enhance educational outcomes, foster personal development, and rejuvenate communities. By investing in these spaces, we invest in a more equitable and sustainable future for our inner-city students, empowering them with the tools they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

We are requesting 3 wooden tables with stools and umbrellas. We would also like an outdoor playhouse with bench.
