My Students

My students are in grades 9-12 with most from low socioeconomic areas. They want to prep for careers in criminal justice. Some of my students dream of becoming police officers, attorneys, or FBI agents in the future to help better their communities.

Many of my former students are currently in the academy or even current officers.

We take field trips to the jail, have scenario day and work directly with The Coral Springs Police Department to ensure each student is getting a real hands-on experience in law enforcement. This class brings leaders from various roles into the classroom for Q & A throughout the year.

My Project

With this donation of headphones and Chromebooks, my students can research current case law. This will allow me to enhance the curriculum so that multiple branches can be researched at the same time without needing me to fully lead instruction. I can move into the facilitator role and allow students to follow their curiosity and learn about various on-going current issues in our community and in our world.

I would do small group breakouts with these computers and headphones so that students can research for answers, pose questions and take practice exams for their future areas of study.

Many of my students do not have access to computers at home, and this would be extremely beneficial.
