Crime Stoppers in Action - Collecting Prints & Evidence.
My students need these kits and supplies to become real-world Junior CSI agents. Book reading, movie watching, and worksheets are "ok" but being hands-on is what makes learning fun. I want my students to be engaged.

My Students
My Junior CSI students come from the local community and rural farms. Approximately 60% of the kids are on Free & Reduced programs. My students are a blend of different cultures and family backgrounds with about 65% of my 450 students being girls. My 6th graders are participating in a 9 week sampler CSI curriculum. My 7th & 8th graders are spending an entire semester learning crime scene investigation. New this year, I am also able to offer an Advance level semester course for 7th graders who successful completed the 6th grade program last year. All of my students selected this elective course and want to take the program.
My Project
What better way to learn than through hands-on activities. Forensic science is the topic and crime solving is our game!
Through these kinds of hands-on activities my students get to be become real-life mystery solvers.
Learning should be engaging and applicable to life. In our class we strive to use our critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills along with team work, hands-on applications, and problem solving.
These kits helps up achieve our goals, acquire scientific knowledge, and explore potential careers at the same time. We read, we analyze, and solve the mystery. Through this project my students will be able to try, explore, and achieve.
