My Students
I am the educator of lower income, inner city students. These students, like all children, have a thirst for learning, and are capable of doing big things. Unfortunately, they come to me ill prepared and underexposed. These conditions are due to a gap and disparity in the experiences, and exposure that these students are afforded. The children want to be better, but they sometimes start out behind, and the possibilities of catching up seem dismal to most. Well not to me! I attempt to expose my students to as much as I can in the time that I am with them. I like to have supplies in our room for the students that need them. When students do not have their supplies, it is rather difficult to get started.
My Project
By funding this project which consist of a Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine Bundle, Permanent Adhesive Backed Vinyl Sheets, and Cricut Tools Bundle, my students will be able to express themselves through printed words. Students using their creativity will design and creative posters, books, and banners which shows their newfound ability to read. Students will appreciate the act of expressing themselves with printed words as they use their new classroom items to display their reading skills. Additionally, students will hone their reading skills as they design project-based units for the science/art fair. Donations to this project will improve my classroom because it will engage my students learners through connecting reading to literacy.
Through using the Cricut Explore Air 2 Machine Bundle, Permanent Adhesive Backed Vinyl Sheets, and Cricut Tools Bundle, my students will improve their reading skills while connecting to STEAM study.
Students will explore how to incorporate technology into STEAM and project-based learning. My goal is to have my students to become better readers through integrating technology to reading. My students will also be more independent in reading!
