My students are very special to me. Our school serves students K-5 and provides rigorous academics, wonderful teachers, and a safe learning environment. As a result, we have been named a National Blue Ribbon School 2016. Approximately 85% of our students are from a low-income family that receive a free lunch. We also have a 40% mobility rate. These economic challenges make special learning experiences a must when teaching our students. My students have been faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. As a teacher, I may not be able to control their home life, but I can make the classroom a positive learning experience. I want to see smiles as they enter my classroom and know that I have made a difference in their lives.
I want my 3rd Graders to experience a well organized classroom. With the Cricut, I will be able to have meaningful anchor charts, word walls, visual cues and a fun creative classroom. The Cricut will be used to label things in or around my classroom. Students will be able to find things easier with it being labeled. Being organized is very important in the lower grade levels.
With the Cricut, I could transform my classroom into a print-rich environment and promote literacy in an informal way.
My plan is to create environmental print that is easy for young eyes to look at with the Cricut.
