My students need a Cricut machine to design and make their own robotics club shirts.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Rector's classroom raised $333

My Students
My students come from low income backgrounds. They do not have the opportunity to experience very much technology outside of the classroom. I have made it a goal of mine to introduce as much technology as possible to them so they may have a well rounded education prior to entering the real world as young adults.
Our school is a community that serves many military families from the Little Rock Air Force base.
We try to tie in how engineers have a role to play in the military as well as civilian life. This gives my students the ability to see how engineering could help them later in life even if they chose to follow in their parents' footsteps.
My students love hands-on activities and projects. About 90% of my class is project based learning. This creates enthusiasm in the classroom and allows students to learn through experiences and not just direct instruction.
My Project
My engineering and robotics clubs need a cricut machine so they can design and make their own club shirts. As an engineering club we emphasis the importance of designing and making our own things. This will not only save us money by not having to buy club shirts but we will also establish a sense of ownership from the students by letting them design the logos and make the shirts that we will wear.
This project also opens up the opportunity for students to use this as a fundraiser opportunity in the future.
My students are very efficient at AutoDesk Inventor so I think they will pick this up very easy.
