it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our dual immersion classroom every student is a language learner, whether it is a Spanish learner or an English learner, they are all learning a language while navigating through their first year of school. As a teacher in a dual immersion classroom I have the privilege of working with a group of students that will develop strong ties, going through school together in one class. They are respectful, motivated, and have a thirst for knowledge that I admire. As students in a Title I school they all come from diverse backgrounds, they have diverse strengths, and they are eager to succeed and learn.
I am requesting a Cricut Maker and accessories to help create a language-rich environment for my kiddos.
Many of my students come from low-income households and as such, they appreciate everything they are exposed to. My kiddos love learning new vocabulary words and they especially love seeing their name throughout our classroom.
The use of this machine will allow me to make labels for student's belongings and supplies, and label the room in both languages. As students are learning in two languages, the labels are very important so they can begin to associate the objects with the vocabulary term. But more importantly, allowing them to see their names as part of the classroom will help them not only feel included but as integral pieces of our classroom.
