This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in Kindergarten at a New York City Public School. Most of my students are English language learners eager to learn and discover. Each student is unique in his or her own way and deserves to have the best educational experience possible. In addition, my students receive free or reduced-price lunches.
Unfortunately, my classroom does not have the resources needed to help my students be ready for this high-tech world.
Many of my students will love to hold and manipulate objects to learn. With the Cricut maker, I can cut out letters and phonic patterns so that students can match, spell words, and use them as manipulative during their extra phonics time. I can also label the various things in the classroom and create a personal space that will feel more like home.
I would love to get them excited about reading by providing students with drawing characters. This will only be possible with your support in having a Cricut maker in our classroom.
