Cricut Designers

My students need a Cricut Maker machine and a Materials Collection For Cricut to design and create projects.

My Students

I have 22 active, curious students in my class. My class this year is one of the best groups of children I have had in 23 years of teaching. They love to read, joke, and play games. Our school is the most diverse in southern Arizona; we have families from all over the world. My students are eager to learn and have become quite a cohesive community.

My students feel safe and comfortable at school.

For many of them, it is the only place they receive enough food and attention. My students live in poverty, and all of them qualify for free lunch. They are very resilient and adaptable because despite personal challenges they arrive at school every day eager for new experiences.

My Project

I am requesting the Cricut Maker machine and Everything Materials Collection for my students. My kids will be astounded to see their designs on the computer become a reality when the machine cuts the material. The Materials Collection contains a variety of textiles for the machine to cut. My students are usually not exposed to this type of creative technology and have not had the opportunity to design on the computer. We will be able to create visual art projects integrated with our science, literacy, and social studies units.

I envision my students creating insect images or weather instrument cut-outs to help summarize what we learn in science.

I also plan to have them create bulletin board and project board displays to represent our learning. This machine will come in handy for our science fair projects! An added bonus would be for us to make class t-shirts with heat transfer vinyl.
