My Project
Why is an Interactive Notebook or also know as a Creators Notebook so important to students? 1. Interactive notebooks teach students to organize and synthesize their thoughts. 2. Interactive notebooks accommodate multiple learning styles at one time in (and out of) the classroom. 3. Student-teacher-parent interaction is built and strengthened with the use of interactive notebooks. Really the list goes on, but the most important one is to build their creative minds and find a love for writing.
Every Morning my students come in and write in their Creators Notebook, there is no structure to their notebook I let them have full creative liberty for their notebook.
I provide prompts if they wish to use that to being writing but it is there notebook to write in, or color, or find quotes in etc.
It's not every day that students get to have a creative outlet that is there's to keep hold and cherish. But these Creators Notebooks allow that for these students they get to keep it, and feel safe in knowing that it is just there's to have. This not only is an outlet to some students but it allows them grow a love of writing that every student needs!
