This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to explore their imaginations with hands-on activites in my art class. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! In my art classes, students have an opportunity to feel successful regardless of language or academic ability, or, for that matter, poverty status.
We have 100% free lunch and a large percentage of ESL and refugees from other nations.
Last year, the majority of our students exceeded high growth expectations on their end-of-grade tests because of their hard work and that of their teachers. They are excited to learn!
My Project
We will be exploring multiple painting techniques with a variety of paint types and need these requested Royal Brush Big Kids Choice Paint Brushes. We will be learning about many different successful artists and reflecting on how they can inspire us.
Painting not only exercises the mind but also the body.
My students will be able to challenge their gross motor skills as well as their fine motor skills by painting. We will be using painting techniques that use skills that will cross over to other subjects in their academics, as well.
Painting will give my students another experience to express themselves and explore how the world effects them. I want to give my students as many opportunities as possible to experience the arts.
