This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am currently teaching Kindergarten at a Title 1 school. I have 25 students in my class. I am excited to start the school year by providing my students with the opportunity to learn in a welcoming environment. Teaching Kindergarten is the most rewarding job. Each day we spend time exploring ourselves through art and play all while learning how to be little people in a big world. We are so lucky to have the chance each day to allow the children the opportunity to free play. This yer the children have taken a liking to building and constructing things.

My Project

With the Magna Tiles my students will be able to channel their creativity and passion for building with easy to maneuver magnets. Since the tiles come apart easily the children will be able to create structures and then edit and revise anything that didn't work as planned. This year my students can't get enough of any thing that can be built and taken apart. They love to use the cubes, blocks and logos. The Magna Tiles will be a great addition. This is also a perfect time for the children to work on their team building skills where they will have to build together and negotiate the usage of tools as well as structure building.
