"Creativity is the key to success in the future, and primary education is where teachers can bring creativity in children at that level." - A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
With this quote in mind, I want to provide a safe and happy environment for my 4 year old students to create and express themselves.
My students attend a public school in Texas with a high poverty rate.
My students are four and five year olds, many who are English as a second language learners. My students love school and have a joy for new experiences such as cutting, drawing, writing, painting and creating. I have the best job because I get to see their love of learning on a daily basis!
My Project
With new art materials my students will get the opportunity to create, explore and problem solve. New paint will stock my art center enabling my young Picassos to paint on a regular basis. Construction paper can be used in countless ways from cutting out geometric shapes for math to making a mask for language arts. Markers can be used for drawing as well as writing. Art supports all areas and centers in my classroom
.
I believe the best way for young children to learn is through hands-on experiences.
These donations will help transform my classroom into a more creative learning environment. Many of my students do not have crayons at home, let alone markers and paint. The art center is always one of the most popular in my classroom because it gives my students a risk free opportunity to make and create.
