My Students
This is my 6th year at a community school in Brooklyn, NY. I use the word community because the school has an amazing philosophy of making sure the teachers, parents, and community are all connected to ensure a safe and successful learning environment. They offer many enrichment programs and incorporate project-based learning in everyday instruction. We are lucky to have such a diverse school and classroom with students from many different backgrounds.
This year - with your help - we can enhance our 1st graders' experience by giving them an opportunity to discover new things around them and have more hands-on experiences in Science and Social Studies.
We have many academic and creative talents. Our students' passion for learning drives projects that we work on throughout the year. These students have a love for reading, and enjoy taking GoNoodle dance breaks. This new group of 1st graders are wonderfully hardworking and curious. I am excited to see where this year takes us!
My Project
The WonderFoam Carpet will allow me to have students work around the room comfortably. These foam squares can be moved around and easily cleaned. This will allow for students to work with their classmates in partners and small groups around the room. They can be used in every subject, for years to come!
Our class is filled of students who want to create together.
We will be using the clay during our Early Civilizations unit to create clay tablets and experience hieroglyphs. The modeling dough will be used to create miniature Earth models later this year!
