My Students
Greetings from Green Bay, WI (Go, Pack, Go!)! Thank you for taking time to review this request for my classroom; my students are a beautiful mix of genuine, altruistic, and inquisitive individuals. This year, I have the privilege of teaching a variety of courses including Literary Analysis, Writing, and Creative Writing. Within these classes, I have students who range from 9th to 12th grade.
I am consistently in awe of my students and their imaginative creations!
They truly go above and beyond with their projects, and they regularly search for innovative ways to put their own twists on activities we work with in class. They are the reason I look forward to going to work every day!
My Project
Creating a safe place for students to share their work can be a difficult task in a high school environment; however, this is a critical step within the writing process. After teaching five sections of Writing courses this semester, I came to understand that it was critical for me to build this space in my classroom for students to better display their work.
Students need a safe place to share their creative ideas!
I am in need of cork board, pins, and magnets to better utilize my classroom space in order to share the work of our students. Due to the nature of writing classes, it is often difficult to put their work on display for others to read; however, I feel that this will be an inviting way for students to showcase their creations.
The cork boards will be used as a classroom spotlight on student work; I will use the boards to rotate "writers of the week" and create activities that motivate students to engage in the work of their peers. I will also use the magnets to share more work on my current classroom boards.
