This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
This project will allow my students to experience application of real-world math concepts, such as ratios, proportions, scale, measurement, and more. Often times, math isn't given time to come alive and off of paper for a lot of students. I would love to use that materials in this project to allow students to design creations, via computer software, and see how their creations can come to life in the real-world.
I want students to see how applicable and vital math is in art and creation and explore math as more than just computing.
I plan to create an after-school club where students can come with a vision, perhaps a drawing, and be provided support on making the vision come alive in the physical form.
My school is comprised of a wide-range of students with diverse needs. I would love to allow a space where we can all come together and find the love of math.
