My Students

Teaching 7th and 8th-grade history is an adventure! About 63% of my school population qualifies for free or reduced-rate lunch. In order to provide relevant, attention-grabbing materials for my students, I get creative in searching for various opportunities!

My students are at an age when they begin to discover who they are and how they fit into this world.

They are on a constant quest to make sense of history in a relevant way. Through historical fiction, I am able to offer perspectives that my students wouldn't be able to picture or experience otherwise.

My Project

With the intense demands and level of rigor within our education curriculum, the arts are slowly being removed from our classrooms! However, there are many who advocate keeping the arts alive!

Sir Ken Robinson said, “Creativity is now as important in education as literacy!” Albert Einstein said, “Creativity is contagious, pass it on!”

With this Cricut, my students will be able to learn new technology that fosters a creative spirit and inspires my students to think outside the box. In my class, students develop projects and create interactive displays. The Cricut can infuse these projects with added elements that will increase the quality of every project!
