Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am tasked with the pleasure of teaching enthusiastic third grade students in all subject areas. These students are curious, intelligent, and creative beyond all measures. They attend a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet in Los Angeles. Being that our school is an Art's Magnet, we try to integrate art in all forms into as many subject areas as possible. The students at this school come from various backgrounds with various life experiences. Funding for some of our materials is difficult to come by. I appreciate you coming to our page and would appreciate and support you could give.
My Project
I have taken an amazing art's integration training this summer. I have learned many ways to bring art into other subject areas in order to engage students and enhance the curriculum. The only frustrating part for me is when I want to do the lessons with my students but don't have the materials or resources to complete them. I am asking for some funding so that I can bring this lesson to life. Students will be able to use the chalk without the concern of getting their clothes dirty. The origami paper will enable us to make homemade books with elaborately designed covers. I am excited to get to work!
