My Students

My students are four-year-old children in Pre-K. We are a high poverty school in an urban district. Many of the families that attend our school are low-income and receive free/reduced lunch. Over half of the students in our school are English Language Learners. I teach in a Dual Language classroom, so many of my students have no English in their vocabulary. This means my students are learning English along with regular Pre-K skills.

Pre-K is an important time to begin developing their imagination and to make learning fun!

If students are not given a positive experience of school at a young age, it can cause them to have a poor attitude toward school in later grades. My goal is to create life-long learners!

My Project

Pre-K is a time for children to develop a love for learning and an excitement for creative projects. Building the foundation of their education on creative art experiences sets students on a path of enjoying art for years to come.

My hope is for my students to allow their creative side to flourish and feel free to express their feelings through many forms of art.

Having the smocks, paintbrushes, drying rack, and trays will allow my students to express themselves through art and show others their masterpieces! Thank you for your generosity!
