Creativity in Motion: Students Create Dances for Concerts
My students need 6 portable speakers and 2 chargers in order to play the music that will be used in the creation of their small group concert dances.
FULLY FUNDED! Coach Sarah's classroom raised $196

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"No! It's my group's turn to use the speakers," says one student. "No! Your group used the speakers yesterday," says another student. Who will win the battle over the speakers? Hopefully, everyone will.
My middle school students are extraordinarily opinionated and creative, especially since they are a part of a performing arts school.
They can't wait to use movement to express what words often cannot. Unfortunately, most of my students cannot afford to take outside dance lessons; I am sometimes their one and only encounter with dance. Our school values the arts, yet there never seems to be enough money to fully support all of the dreams and ideals we have for our programs.
My Project
With these portable speakers my students will be able to use their own devices (iPod, iPhone, mp3 player, computer, etc.) to play the music that will be an integral part of their dances that are performed in 2 yearly concerts. They will be able to work in small groups without having to share speakers with other groups or lose out on time working with the music. My students will be enabled to create their dances without technological interferences. Their creativity will be able to flourish.
Your donations will give these students access to technology and artistic creation that they might not otherwise have.
Music and dance go hand in hand, and without the proper music technology, we might not be able to fully realize the potential of a dance.
