Our school is a Title 1 School, comprised of a diverse group of individuals with various socioeconomic backgrounds. I am proud to say my incredible, twelve students make up part of our school's hard-working third grade. My students come from different backgrounds, each with their own unique personality, ideas, and experiences to contribute to the classroom.
My students never cease to amaze me with their degree of curiosity, creativity, and innovation in the classroom.
As a Special Education teacher I can easily say that there are times I feel as though I learn more from them, than them from me. Every new school year, I owe it to my students to better the learning experience and our classroom space to provide each child with an improved environment that harbors enthusiastic learning.
My Project
My students are very visual and tactile learners that enjoy expressing themselves through various mediums. And although I consider myself resourceful and grateful for the limited supplies my school is able to grant me, I could still use the following basic materials to provide my students the proper avenues to become successful creative and expressive learners.
These resources will enrich lesson quality, improve student engagement, and establish a greater degree of organization in our classroom.
I am asking for pencils for daily writing activities and copy paper for enrichment and worksheets. The dry-erase markers and clipboards will be utilized in various instances to allow my students to experiment with different learning tools to disrupt the monotony of everyday work. The post-its will be used to advance reading comprehension with colorful note-taking, while the folders will also play a role in organizing our tasks. Ultimately, these supplies may not seem like much but as their teacher, it is my responsibility to give my students the best learning experiences and it all starts with basic resources.
