Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 5th grade special education teacher in a title 1 school in New York City. My class consists of 12 amazing students! All my students have talents and strengths; sometimes; all it takes is exposure or motivation. My students strive for excellence in all they do!
My Project
My amazing 12 students with special needs love engaging, interactive resources. Unfortunately, we're facing new challenges with school closures and adapting to remote learning. Getting the right resources to reach them is even harder. They need access to digital practice, but also have the resources that they are use to using in the classroom. They need notebooks, crayons, books, dry erase boards, etc. I would like to use a whiteboard for my live remote learning sessions for my students to feel like they are back in the classroom as well. Having easy, fun, friendly ways to practice their skills will ensure that they do not lose what they already worked so hard to gain and even learn new material.
I want to do everything I can to ensure they continue to learn and grow for the rest of the year.
