This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from an inner city known for its poverty and crime. They need hands-on lessons that allow them to express themselves in creative and innovative ways. They need a challenge and real-life problems to solve. They need to learn how to work together and solve problems in unique ways.

As their teacher, it is my responsibility to connect with my students and provide the resources they need to pursue their goals and challenge their minds.

Many students are gifted, but no one has ever tapped into their special gifts. Providing a hands-on problem solving task is a great way for students to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. They learn to communicate better and develop interpersonal skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.

My Project

STEAM education is so important for our students. Hands-on projects help students to retain knowledge and get involved in their learning. When students code, they develop critical thinking skills which help in every domain. They actually become the creators of their own learning.

The Sphero-BOLT is programmable and highly advanced.

It is designed for students of all ages. It has an indestructible shell with an LED matrix and advanced sensors which provide students with endless opportunities for creativity and fun with learning. This will be a motivating addition to our hands-on, student-centered classroom.
