My students are wonderfully diverse in age, ability level, and background. They are bravely working through a variety of challenges, each unique in their own way. I want to give them the best experience I can for the length of their stay with me!
Please help me give my students nifty art supplies to encourage creativity as a coping skill and source of joy while they work on their recovery!
While receiving treatment through the in-patient program, their daily agenda is full of a broad scope of tasks and engagements, as well as very structured requirements to best aid them in what they are working through.
I would love to provide my students with a collection of art supplies that will not only contribute to exercising their minds, but also offer a creative outlet to support them during times of struggle on their journey. It is estimated that a mere hour of creative activity can significantly reduce stress and have a positive impact on mental health!
Being creative can also assist in developing new coping skills. Engaging in artistic activity can not only take the mind off of cravings and relieve boredom but also help one stay focused on their recovery from substance abuse and addiction. I would love to be able to offer my students creativity as a coping skill with these nifty art supplies!
