This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our music classroom is a haven for fun, entertaining learning for all of our students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The majority of our students come from low-income, immigrant families. They have very little, including enough food to feed their families. However, every student at our school brings with them a special light.

Through music, we provide an outlet for students to express themselves as they are.

We provide a space where students feel safe to have fun and show their true personalities.

My Project

Having iPads in our music classroom allows our students to access technology in preparation for real world skills. Music has evolved from simply learning a song and performing. Today's music activities feature many technological specialities!

iPads are the key to making music COOLER!

Through the use of the iPads we can create virtual bands, extend learning through project based assignments, and utilize music activities to make meaningful connections to the general content areas. Many free applications to extend learning and immerse the students in the assignment are only available on iOS. By supporting this project, you are helping students tap into creativity and removing the limits of the general classroom!
