This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment." - MaryAnn F. Kohl
This quote is the reason why I am writing this grant. I think that art should be incorporated and integrated into all aspects of education and the classroom.
My classroom has students from a variety of backgrounds (ethnic, social, religious, etc.).
They are energetic, enthusiastic, and curious children. My school is 93% free and reduced price lunch eligible and supplies are limited. Art supplies are often limited the most.
My Project
I plan on using paint, paper, brushes, clay and glitter as a supplement to what we are learning in class. These materials will give me the opportunity to integrate art into all of the subjects that I teach: literacy, math, science, and social studies. I want to give my students the opportunity to be creative and express themselves using art materials. They will get the chance to explore painting, clay, and blank puzzles for art projects.
This project will make a difference in my classroom because I do not have many art supplies and there aren't many in my school.
Art gives children the chance to express themselves and explore their own creativity and these materials will give them the opportunity to do just that!
