This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are best engaged when there are hands-on activities! Who doesn't? It is a great way to see the abstract concepts come to life and become relatable and relevant to them. Students are applying their skills in defining problems, proposing solutions, planning and designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data. But before they can master these skills, they also need demonstrations of concepts in order to know which questions to investigate. Students are integrating engineering design process and problem solving through our yearlong science and engineering fair projects.

Students are best engaged when they are able to express their creativity and we would like to have a vinyl cutter machine and sheets to help them showcase to others this creativity!

More particularly, our students in the science club are sponsoring events such as robotics league tournament, Science STEAM Family Night, Back-to-School Night and Science Open House. The vinyl cutter will be a great tool to use to make their imaginations come to life. Most importantly, these skills that seemed to be not so important just a decade ago will now be one of the many crucial skills as our young generation enter the work force. Help us provide them the tools to practice the much-needed skills for the 21st century competence!
