This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Creative and critical thinking by allowing students to express themselves through art and flexibility will allow students to advance their academic learning despite COVID-19. The various art materials will allow students to take charge of their learning and allow freedom of expression that best works for them. Students are encouraged to demonstrate learning in various ways.
Flexible seating also allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them while promoting student collaboration.
The buzzers will allow students to demonstrate their knowledge through friendly competition.
During independent work times, students choose from a variety of locations in the classroom that works for them such as different table groupings, sitting on beanbags and pillows, sitting or laying on the classroom rug with a clipboard, or on the kidney table. Students that are comfortable and have choices encourage motivation. This year I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating and how they demonstrate their knowledge. These materials will engage my students and allow them to get more work completed and showcase what they know in various ways.
