Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in 5th grade. My classroom is made up of English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), special needs, and gifted students. My students are enthusiastic and ready to learn, but they need laptops with headphones to be exposed to our very technological way of learning and living.
My students are eager to learn and do their best.
They want to be study hard and be successful. However, in such a technology enriched world, some of my students are being left behind. It is very important that my students become familiar with technology, because that is how testing is done every year. Moreover, that is how most of their assignments are going to be given to them in middle and high school, so I need to prepare them for the future.
My Project
We need Chromebooks to use in our classroom. We currently only have 3 computers, which includes my teacher computer. So having Chromebooks will open more avenues to broaden student learning and will allow us to connect to the internet better and faster than ever before.
The laptops that I am requesting will allow the students to go on various computer programs to work on their reading, science, math, and intervention lessons, complete projects, research information, and participate in interactive lessons.
My students need these laptops to boost their learning as well as to be able to be exposed to technology in the classroom.
My students need Chromebooks and headphones to help integrate technology and address their individual needs in the classroom.
