Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many of my student are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch. The school has 98.3% reduced lunch based on their socioeconomic status . My students are limited with technology and they have to share with the whole school to do iReady and other assignments. They have economics problems and some of them do not have access to internet program at home. Most the time, they have to do their assignment in school during instruction time or the after school program.
My Project
Students can practice using technology in my Math class with these Chromebooks. They will improve their skills using the technology and they will be problem-solvers. Also, they will improve their lives and those people around them in their future. With the increase of technology, my students can take advantage of these on their computers. Virtual and concrete manipulatives reinforce mathematical concepts separately but a combination of both is the best way to achieve the best results. Websites can offer the engagement to lessons and the use of virtual manipulatives through technology creates “the opportunity to make meaning and see relationships as a result of one’s own actions.” They will be the students of 21st century!
