This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Art plays an important role in students of all ages. As the art teacher, I am able to see every child in the school once a week! In order for my students to show their unique personalities I will design fun, hands-on contemporary lessons that keep all students engaged!
My school is on the Westside of Indianapolis.
Students at my school come from all different backgrounds, and my lessons can encourage all students to show their personal identity through art.
As a first year teacher, I am excited to meet my students and let their uniqueness and creativity shine!
My Project
I am asking for art supplies that fit the basic needs of an art room, but also some contemporary materials. I want to enrich the students’ learning of the arts, and also allow them to experience all different types of art mediums!
These art materials will allow my students to have hands-on experiences and will encourage high levels of involvement and collaboration.
The weaving boards and yarn are to introduce a new kind of art to the children. Weaving can be very relaxing, and most kids love it! I want my students to be excited about all kinds of art!
