Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have been able to begin exploring the world of sublimation printing and they are obsessed with all of the creative possibilities. We are just starting to learn the basics by sublimation printing and now we are excited to learn all of the various possibilities related to the art of sublimation transfer on various mediums with these sublimation supplies. They want to try cups, ornaments, earrings, whatever they can sublimate on.
My main goal with these supplies is to give my students the opportunity to express themselves creatively using various mediums.
My students have few opportunities to be creative in or out of school and I love that I can give them these opportunities and to allow them to express themselves and to be introduced to so many diverse crafting and creating experiences.
I also find the process of sharing my love of crafting with my students to be one of the most rewarding teaching experiences that I have ever had. I feel that the hierarchy of teacher- student is gone when we are working on creative projects together and we are equals just working together to create.
