This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Middle school can be a tough experience, especially for newcomers who are learning English or have just arrived in the country. It’s important to give these students opportunities to express themselves creatively and feel more connected to their school community.
The resources I’m requesting will offer students different ways to explore their creativity.
Watercolor paint pens will help them gain confidence in trying out art, while embroidery, which many students are already interested in, will give them a new hands-on activity to focus on. The planters will not only brighten up our classroom, but also give students a chance to learn about plants and take care of something they can be proud of.
These resources will make learning more engaging and fun. Students will be able to partner up with others who share similar interests, allowing them to build stronger social connections and improve their language skills naturally through these creative activities.
