Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is made up of a diverse group of 18 students that enjoy learning and having fun.
My students are full of energy and love to play, discover and create new things.
Our school consist of a very large English language learner population. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch.
Marie Curie said, "Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less."
My Project
These materials will make a big difference in the lives of my students as they will be able to creatively express themselves with the color paper, pencils, markers and crayons. Afterwards they will be able to have their work laminated and be saved for a long time. My students will have the opportunity to write about their experiences and draw a picture relating to it. I will display the various color art paper, pencils, crayons, chart paper and markers for their stories.
The student’s drawings will be easily protected and preserved by laminating them.
The laminating machine and roll paper will be very useful when laminating the student's work. In addition all educational and professional documents including charts, posters, maps, newspapers clippings, teaching aids can also be laminated.
We are now receiving new students from Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. My amazing and innovative class is 100% free and reduced lunch already, so, fortunately, they understand not having a number of luxuries. I want our new visitors from Puerto Rico to feel like school is a safe and fun place to get away from the stresses of having to leave behind everything they once knew. Our hurricane victims are welcomed into our classrooms, I want to provide a classroom environment that welcomes them to Florida.
