My Project
The Cornell note taking and Doodle Journals are an extensive language journal that will support my students in learning sight words and applying the words with everyday reading, writing and speaking in English from their native languages.
These journals will be incorporated into their daily literacy instruction as Cornell note taking and doodle notes for English literacy instruction.
The skills students will learn in these journals are necessary to help them become strong English readers and speakers. Sight words are words that are commonly seen in our required reading texts.
These journals will further expose my learners to the words, so that they will be able to identify the words and help with long term memorization during instruction or independent reading. The Daily Cornell and doodle note based Journals will also hep my students practice to further their competence in reading, letter sounds, and spelling. Most importantly, each student having their own journal will help to keep the learning experience more engaging.
