My Students
My students are from NY. We are a Title I school, and the basic principle of Title I is that schools with large concentrations of low-income students will receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting students' educational goals. With that being said, my students are the most grateful people I have ever met! When they get to use supplies that maybe they don't have at home, it's an exciting feeling! In class, we often get to use clay, paint, and paper mache. It is a great feeling for both the students and me to know they have the items they need to complete a project. The children really do benefit from hands-on activities. The students are eager to share their projects with you.
My Project
This has been a difficult year with the pandemic. I am requesting some new flesh colored tint paint for us to use in art class. These supplies will help us work on new art lessons like self portraits. Students will learn the painting technique developed by the artist George Seurat. It involves using small, painted dots to create areas of color that together form a pattern or picture. It's a fun technique for children to try, especially because it's easy to do, and requires just a few simple materials.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
