This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I school in the Upstate region of South Carolina.
Each morning I am greeted by a classroom full of first-graders who are eager to learn.
They come from many different homes and backgrounds.
I make every effort for each student to become a part of our class family so that he/she can leave their worries at home and focus on reading, math, critical thinking, art, music and the many other activities that occur in our classroom at school.
My Project
This school year is going to be a lot different than what students and teachers are used too. Rainy day recess is tough with students are not abled to share materials.
My students usually play LEGO blocks or games together.
Unfortunately, with Covid, we will not be able to do that this year. I am working on finding some simple items that students can do individually to still have fun. They want to be active for recess and not just sit to watch a movie. Students can build with the logs, tinker toys and shapes. I can spray these items down to clean them after use.
