Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our class is comprised of both 2nd and 3rd grade students. They are hard-working students from a low-income environment. They all have their own individual and unique personalities but come together to create a family dynamic within the classroom. Our students come to school each day with smiles on their faces.
Working in a multiage environment of 2nd and 3rd grade, it is nearly impossible to spot the difference between the two age groups.
Our students are smart, adventurous, and eager to learn. Our school is located in Arizona. We often lack classroom funding, and our parents are not capable of helping beyond their means. This means my students often must go without. These students deserve more.
My Project
As an inquiry based school, our students are constantly working on different projects through multimedia. As they are working on their own projects, students don't have the ability to see their peers work and due to COVID, parents cannot currently come in to see their student's thinking.
With the ability to utilize a Go Pro, students could show other students and their parents the process behind their work.
This would enable deeper thinking and reflection among students, both about their own work and others. This would give us the opportunity to increase our level of inquiry within the classroom.
