My Students

"Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn." -O. Fred Donaldson

My students are innovative, creative, resourceful, and have a great love of learning.

We are located in a rural town and are a very close knit community. Many of the families at our school have been in the district for generations.

My students come from diverse backgrounds and have many different learning styles, strengths, and needs. They have a great love for learning and exploration of new ideas that does not stop with academics. They learn best when they are challenged and allowed to think outside the box.

My Project

My students love to use their imagination to solve problems, especially when it is time for recess or free play. We love to be outside and active, but there are days when that is not possible due to weather. On those days, it would be great to have toys for recess that will offer them a way to play and problem solve at the same time. Toys like STEM Learning Toy Engineering Construction Building Blocks and LEGO Simple Machine Sets will offer them great creative play opportunities not only during recess, but also during times of free play in the classroom.

Problem solving, creative thinking, innovation, collaboration, perseverance, and independence are all learned through play.

The toys will help build these skills for my students. They will offer the students hours of enjoyment in school and create life long learners. Not only will they be able to solve problems during recess and free play, but the skills will transfer to academics and allow them be better problem solvers. These toys will be enjoyed by my 3rd graders this year and for years to come. Thank you for reading my Donors Choose project!
