This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Gifted students, as a population, can find life a challenge. Many of the skills and interactions that are common for on-level students, can be difficult for the gifted child. This stress can manifest itself as withdrawal or underperformance.
Gifted students -even high school students- can benefit from creative play.
These toys and activities will help my gifted advisory students explore play in a classroom setting. Some of these toys are for individual play. Some are for cooperative play. Having a selection of activities available will allow students to de-stress and have fun (after their homework is done). The stresses in high school can impact a gifted child’s mental health with an outlet like this, gifted students will find the mental health they deserve.
