This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Social and emotional learning is crucial to my students. Expressing emotions through art should not be limited to grey pencils and white copy paper. They need basic tools like markers, paint and paper to create with. Currently my budget is $2.00 per student, per year for art supplies. This limits the materials they would have access to. I would like to provide my students with various art mediums, colors, and choices. Some of my students do not have access to art supplies outside of the classroom. While they are in school I would like to offer opportunities to positively express themselves. Whether that is a creative response to the world around them or a mindful artistic moment in time. Let’s brighten their world together.
