My Students

This project will impact third through fifth-grade students in a Specialized Academic Instruction program. My classroom consists of students with autism and others with Down Syndrome, but they don't let their disabilities get in the way of their learning. And this is what I love about my students!

They constantly try their best to master new skills through repetitions and generalizing skills with those around them.

They are able to overcome any frustrations they may face and eventually master those skills.

Lastly, my student's love for learning is what continues to motivate me to become a better teacher and to try to provide all the materials they need to help them to be successful in their learning.

My Project

What my students love about art is the ability to create something whether it's by using their imagination or following specific directions to have one outcome. With the art supplies such as Wiki sticks, students will be able to build 2D or 3D creations. Melissa and Doug stamps will be used to create colorful stories that they can relate to and add stickers to add more details! When the art materials are not being used, it will be stored in a clear stackable bins to keep everything organized.

Once their work is complete, they will be so proud and truly appreciate the beauty of their own work.
