This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

20+ years ago I helped paint a mural at my elementary school in Oakland. It was a just patch of grass, but just knowing I helped do something makes that memory one of my most memorable ones. I want my kids to have similar, happy memories.

These are kids that remind me of me.

They live in the same neighborhoods I did, they go to the same church I went to, they play soccer passionately like I did, they love to paint and draw like I do, they like to build and create things. Together we have painted three murals at our school.

My Project

These young and creative minds will follow my humble/entertaining guidance projected on to the wall in our classroom. I will project the artwork needed to be done by each student. We will watch art videos and plan our school murals. They will learn to proportion and balance the artwork they want to create by getting to see it and plan it out digitally first.

With your help funding this projector, these kids will get to have a better view of our lessons from anywhere in the classroom.

We will be able to watch instructional art videos as well as helping them jump start their creative minds.
