Creative Minds Through Art

My students need an all in one printer and ink. My students love to express themselves, through art, by creating beautiful drawings on the computer!

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love coming to school and using the computers to create drawings of something they are learning and/or to express their feelings for the day. I would love for my students to be able to print these drawings and take them home to share with their families!

I work with an amazing group of children who are eager to learn.

I have been extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to teach Special Education at an extremely poor Title I school in the City of Chicago. I enjoy seeing the excitement in their eyes when we get ready to work in our small groups during literacy and math centers. My students come from diverse backgrounds, which make each of them unique. Many of my students come from low income families. My students lack access to technology in the home which motivates me to provide these tools for my students. They are also the best kids on the planet!

My Project

I would love to empower my students through art by providing them with all the resources they need to be successful learners, especially when it comes to expressing themselves. Some of my special eduction students express how they are feeling by creating pictures on the computer. My students also love completing lessons and assignments through technology. I let them use the computer to draw and write during writing workshop and print out their completed writing. I would also like them to be able to print out books in color that they can take home and read at home. Many students don't have access to books at home so this would be a way to provide them with the reading materials they need. The color printer and ink would help my students improve their reading and writing as well as being able to express themselves.

Donations to this project will help keep my students engaged in their learning and provide digital art tools for them to use.

Students’ visualization of taught concepts will be enhanced through drawings. Information by students will be clearer. Added to clearer visuals will be students development of visual representations to help students process, synthesize information and make students successful learners .
