My Students

My students are five and six year old precious children. They come to school excited and eager to learn everyday! I look forward to seeing their promising and hopeful smiles each morning. Many of my students are coming to school for the very first time when they enter my classroom. I feel tremendously blessed to give them their first real experience of school. I also feel it is my job to provide a warm environment as well as ignite the love of learning.

It is imperative that each student feels welcomed, safe and loved when they are in my classroom.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds; however, in our classroom we are one family. We encourage, laugh and support each other daily. I hope I make half the impact on them as they have made on me.

My Project

The super hero materials I requested will help create a warm, fun, and welcoming atmosphere for my incoming kindergarten students. The nameplates are imperative for my students to learn how to identify their name as well as learn to write it correctly. The name plates will also be available in our writing center and on our word wall. This allows students to feel confident reading not only their name, but their new friend's name as well!

The art supplies I requested will help students explore their individuality through art.

The rhinestones, glitter, paint, googly eyes, and other art materials will be available for students to use daily in our creation station. The art supplies will also be featured in our stem stations to inspire students to problem solve and build things while working with peers.

The stapler, sticky tac, scissors, and post it notes are vital teacher supplies I am in need of in order to display my student's work in and outside of our classroom.

Lastly, the positive teacher notes, superhero bands, and All About Me posters will be a great way for me to engage with not only my students but their families as well. It is important to have a great home school connection. These materials will help accomplish that.
