Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are very bright and have a passion for learning as well as enjoy seeing 1st hand how information effects them. The lights in their eyes shine as they "connect the dots" in the lessons given daily. The students have accepted the motto/rules of the classroom since day one of school, especially the last rule of never giving up. My students are visual and kinesthetic learners in both of my classes for Math, Science and Social Studies. My students enjoy weekly week activities/projects I think of to keep their learning not only relevant but also fun for them. I have a very curious, funny and knowledge absorbing group of 4th graders. They all have different backgrounds and levels of understanding, but the have a common goal of succeeding and never giving up which I planted in them the first day of class.

My Project

The students will be using the camcorder to record themselves and others in giving interviews as well as practicing public speaking. The students will also use it for class projects with exploring earth science for a 1st hand account of what they discovered and presenting their inventions or ideas for smart phone applications. The Wacom pad and pen will be used for students to solve math problems on the Promethean board (smart board) without having to leave their seat. They will also use it in creating illustrations for their science projects, creating pictures for their stories to be read on camcorder and design future inventions.
