This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach amazing, energetic, creative students with exceptional needs. My current students are in grades 4-6 (ages 8-12) who are enrolled in our Special Day Program. My students are all working 2-3 levels below their current grade due to learning disabilities which affect their ability to access and use their grade level curriculum. Dispite all their challenges my students enjoy learning and sharing new information. This school is a Title 1 school with high poverty and 85% English Language Learners.
My Project
These supplies will be used throughout the entire curriculum. These supplies will allow students to develop and express themselves creatively. These materials will and can be used during whole and small group instructions in math, science and social studies. The use of the materials will also help with developing equality in learning by ensuring all students have equal access to necessary materials. Having quality materials will help student feel motivated to learn because it's one less thing for them to worry about. These simple materials will allow students to participate in the learning process at all levels no matter their abilities.
