My Students
I teach a program that is comparable to an ALC (Alternative Learning program). At my school this program helps students who need assistance in credit recovery to graduate or needs more love and/or have behaviors that impair them to be successful in a regular school setting. Even though these students come from broken families/family issues, learning disabilities, are behind in credits for graduation, and/or multiple absences they are still children who need to be cared for and need to be loved.
My students ranging from the ages of 14-18 years old are caring, respectful and wonderful students even though they come from low-income, high poverty families.
My students come from areas where they don’t even have running water or electricity. Due to this, this is the reason why my school was chosen to receive federal funding for transportation and meals so my students are able to come to school and eat meals for free as they cannot afford it.
My Project
As most of my students are moving to virtual/digital learning. I still want them to create and be artistic. I want my students to have projects and give them opportunities to create.
By providing each student with their own set of markers and colored pencils, my students will be able to create works of art.
My students will be creative and will show thier artistic and creative side.
By having these supplies my students will be able to create projects from their homes as we are moving towards virtual/distance learning.
More than half of students from low‑income households
